The fascinating local architecture is strongly influenced by German culture. You will frequently see a blend of different types of buildings where both European and African influences are present. 

Start with Independence Avenue – go for a walk in this city landmark and enjoy the cafés, stores and local craftsmanship shops.

You must also visit the Alte Feste, an old fort built in 1890, and the Tintenpalast (Ink Palace) which houses the Namibian Parliament.
