Marvel at the amazing elephant herds travelling across the Luiana landscape!

The Luiana Natural Reserve is an integral part of the Luengue-Luiana National Park and spreads across 8.400 km2 in the Province of Kuando Kubango, very close to the border with Zambia and Namibia. The reserve was created in 1966, and contributes to the conservation of the local fauna and flora.

RICH ANIMAL AND PLANT LIFE

The local ecosystem comprises savannah plains, swamplands and precious woods trees (mussivi, mume and girassonde, among others) and it supports several animal species - the highlight goes to the swamp-dwelling hippopotamuses and the elephant herds that frequently travel across these plains.
