MUSEUMSUFERFEST

During the last weekend of August, Frankfurt is home to a huge cultural festival. For two days, the banks of the Main come alive with Museumsuferfest, with museums offering discounted entries to locals and tourists alike. The programme includes several events celebrating the city’s cultural institutions: open-air exhibitions, special museum tours, workshops, music and dance performances, and street stalls selling merchandise, books and craft items.

The festival is known for drawing over roughly three million people and each year there is a different theme, usually a focus on the culture of a foreign country or world region.
