CAPITAL OF ZAMBIA'S SUGGESTIONS

MODERN AND HISTORICAL

Lusaka is one of the fastest growing cities in Africa and for this reason it is has become a melting pot of cultures and traditions.

One one hand, for instance, you can visit the stunning Market of Lusaka with over 400 stalls selling everything you can think of. On the other hand, you can visit Manda Hill, a modern shopping mall filled with specialised stores.

Streets with modest-looking homes exist right next to other streets filled with huge houses with well cared-for gardens.

The best way to appreciate Lusaka is to simply walk down its streets and marvel at the city's unique personality which stems from its immense population and its diversity of cultures and nationalities.

If you go shopping, start your tour at Cairo Street, the city's main business area!

This city has a lot to offer: culture, wonderful landscapes and outdoor activities. But first, even if you're not going shopping, you must visit the Market of Lusaka, where the locals gather and where you get the opportunity to observe the city's daily life play out in full.

The Lusaka National Museum will be the first place to show you the city's history, while the Kabwata Cultural Village offers the chance to see the work of local crafts people and watch traditional dances. You should also visit the Cathedral and enjoy its architecture.
