Considered as one of the most beautiful representations of religious and historical architecture, the Church of Our Lady of Assumption in Malange is an important monument in the city, classified as a historical and cultural heritage of Angola.

The Church began to be built in 1862, but after several years of abandonment, it was partially destroyed. Its construction was only completed in 1929, having its official inauguration that same year. Later, this temple was elevated to the Cathedral of the Diocese of Malange.
